Proud Momma

Finally after many months of dread and anticipation after the last failure I can proudly say that this sweet girl is potty trained. She was much more ready this time, and I made the wise decision of not trying to do it alone so with Brandon's help it was accomplished in a couple of days. She's received lots of treats, stickers, and praise so she is very proud of herself as well.

Harper decided she was not going to be out shined, so she learned how to pull up the same day.  She is such a sweet baby but is hard to keep up with.
I am loving these girls!!!!
Tea Parties and Dress Up takes up more than a few hours in my week.  I've got a good life.
We went to the zoo last week and Haper spent most of the day peeking out of the stroller like this.

Alaska

Brandon and Korbin went to Alaska for a boys fishing trip with brothers, nephews, and cousins. They had a really great time and can't wait to go again (in ten years, which will be about the time I will be ok with him leaving me alone again for a whole week.)Brandon said it they were catching fish almost as fast as they could cast their line, or whatever your supposed to say. . .A highlight of the trip was taking a float plane to another fishing location for the day. I am so glad that I didn't know ahead of time that the tiny creek below was their landing strip. That day they cleaned a fish and ate it fresh for lunch. 90% of the tv that Brandon watches is survival shows, so I know he was in heaven.
One of his many big catches. Does this one look mean to anyone else?He really had a wonderful time and he definitely needed the break from work and babies. It's funny to me that I actually believed that I would handle his absence easily and would just be happy that he was having fun, ha. It was definitely good for our marraige because by the first night I was dying for my husband to be back home. I'm glad he had the opportunity to go, but I'm not giving him up again willingly anytime soon.

Talent Show

Last week Mikayla and Korbin competed in a local talent show and did amazing!! We were so proud even though I only got to hear it through the phone in the van since Harper was having a fit. Obviously they captured the audience's attention.I tried my hardest to get a video downloaded, but it didn't work. So please believe that they did awesome, we were very proud!!!

Growing Up

Harper is almost 6 mths old and is starting to become her own sweet person more every day. She loves sucking her thumb or toe. She has followed suit from her sister and likes to sleep with her doo-doo (silky blanket bear). She has a great laugh and is almost always in a good mood. If she is crying, you know that she is seriously upset about something. She sat up yesterday and it hit me that the newborn stage is pretty much over.

I had to post this too because obviously Harper is not the only one growing up. You got to love that Nana has taken it upon herself to teach her classical music.

Hallie is 2 or Twood

Well she is almost two. We had her birthday party this weekend and had a good time with her little friends. She is not in the most outgoing stage of her life, but she had some cute moments. She was very excited about her elmo party and I was very excited to let her try chocolate cake for the first time.

After her and her little friends ate hotdogs and cake, they went outside to play in the pool. Her friends loved it and Hallie loved it for about 30 seconds and then declared she was all done and demanded that her swimsuit be taken off bacause it was itchy. Oh well, you are who you are even at two.Hallie is such a sweet child. She is a mommy's girl for now and I love it. She's so smart and amazes us with her memory of things, especially animals. Her favorite things are doodoo and blankie, eating hotdogs, singing, dancing, playing the piano, being with Nana or Brianna, making people laugh, and smelling feet. She is a great blessing in my life and I'm thankful that God chose me to be her mother. On a seperate note we got Harper's ears pierced and let me just say that 4 months old is so much of a better age to do it than 1 year. She did great, and it looks really cute. BeforeAfter

To Nana's House We Go

Last week we braved the trip and went to visit Nana and Papaw. It was probably the best trip we had since the girls were born. They both slept relatively well and didn't make a peep the whole way home. We got to go to the annual Mountain Laurel Festival Fair and Parade and that was pretty fun for Hallie despite the blazing heat and Hallie getting very briefly lost.
